An innovative smartphone adaptation may bring portable, easy-to-use refractive evaluation to developing countries. Working with the Media Lab at MIT and the Informatics Institute at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil, our team has developed and are refining a device we call the Near-Eye Tool for Refractive Assessment (NETRA).
